Our History
John Ademilusi founded the business in July of 2022. John approached Kennedy Wallace to be a director in the business. John decided to open Heaven Support Services Ltd to change young people’s lives positively.
Having both previously worked in admin for a company within residential children’s homes, both John and Kennedy noticed the need within the industry to support children post-16 to bridge the gap between residential and independent living as the jump was far too great for most young people.
It is known that looked-after children and care leavers are often some of the most vulnerable children and young people in society, so we decided to open a 16+ service to focus on the gaps within the young persons’ independence skills and offer a safe environment for them to develop into adults in their own time, instead of being moved due to their age.
We now have four homes: two in Walsall (Cannock & Bloxwich), one in Wolverhampton and one in Birmingham.
We continue to build working relationships with our local authorities to progress our service regarding occupancy slowly. We decided to focus on smaller homes with 1-2 service users per home to provide a bespoke and individual care package in a small environment where service users can predominantly work on a 1:1 level with their staff members.
We have developed the staffing team by ensuring all staff who pass their probation are enrolled on their level 3; we have a pool of bank staff, full-time support workers, senior support workers, a registered manager, and a nominated individual all in place to oversee the service and ensure as a company, we are working on our registration with our regulatory bodies; CQC & OFSTED.
We also have a monthly external quality assurance visit to ensure we maintain our standards of care and support.
Our Values
Honesty is not just about telling the truth its about our moral compass how we conduct ourselves, how we interact with others our commitment to our service users this is both verbally and written. it is about respecting ourselves, our colleagues, service users and stakeholders. it is about doing what we say we’re going to do
Accountability is about taking responsibility for your actions, comments and commitment to our service user’s the company and all stakeholders (people involved in the service delivery to produce better outcomes for our service users.
Selflessness is about thinking of others before yourself, it is about what is it I can do to benefit the service user, the company the stakeholders. It is about having respect for your colleagues i.e. ensuring you are on time for your shift so there can handover and go home to their loved ones. it is about recognising that we are no better than anyone else we just haven’t experienced everything they may have gone through.
Solidarity, means a togetherness to achieve a common goal we should be together in our approach to deliver positive outcomes for our service users and we do this by attending meetings and training, by ensuring we complete daily logs, and written reports listen intently to handovers and to continue the work handed over by our colleagues and internal and external stakeholders. it is about adhering to policies and procedures and changes in the law, it is about whistle blowing and safeguarding to ensure everyone remains safe.
